Just an amazing weekend. The property is the absolute best the foothills have to offer. Hill side Walking trails, river side fire, and large patios surrounded by trees and lawns. The team were friendly, the food delicious and the nights peaceful. Highly recommend and I can't wait to stay again!Posted on Google![]()

Went to the Crossing. Not kid friendly. Do not go if you want day use. You will be told to leave if you don’t pay the $395 price range for 1 bed. Even though you wanted to inquire about the fire pit menu they rave.Posted on Google![]()

The location is between Canmore and Calgary, the location is a bit off the main road while easy to assess by car. The staff is very young and did not introduce us. The house is beautiful and would be great if there are better maintenance (eg. Our toilet lights are blinking when we open it) and mature staff. There are sure potential here to be explore!+3Posted on Google![]()

We had our wedding at The Crossing and stayed two nights with our guests. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is beautiful and tranquil. The food was delicious and the kitchen did a wonderful job accommodating our vegan guest. All of the staff were lovely and things went so smoothly that we had a completely relaxing and restorative time with our families. Thank you to all of the staff who made that possible. The Crossing is a hidden gem that is perfect for events or for a relaxing getaway. I'm sure we'll be back!+0Posted on Google![]()

A secret gem close to Calgary. Beautiful location, cozy facility, awesome staff and amazing food! My wife and I snuck away to reconnect and this place was exactly what we needed. Our days were filled with relaxing, talking, hiking, recharging and eating. All the staff were amazing and they were very accommodating - hospitality at its finest. The food was amazing with lots of local items. Chef brought flair to everything. Already planning another trip. Recommending to everyone we meet.Posted on Google![]()

If we could give The Crossing at Ghost River more than five stars, we would. We were looking for a venue that felt like "the middle of nowhere" while still being a convenient hour’s drive from Calgary, and The Crossing hit every mark. Our guests were absolutely astonished that such a breathtaking, serene location existed so close to the city. From the moment of our first inquiry, we worked with Antonia, who was nothing short of phenomenal. She was attentive, kind, and answered every single question we had. We chose their elopement package for an intimate wedding of 20, and the value was beyond anything we expected. They truly made us feel like royalty, also surprising the bridal party with our own rooms the night before, and providing a delicious breakfast. The Food: Before booking, we did our research on the Chef, knowing that the meal can make or break an event. Let me tell you: the research paid off, but the reality was even better!!!. Our guests are still raving that this was the best wedding meal they have ever had. Every single bite was phenomenal!. The Atmosphere: As parents, it was vital that our venue be family-friendly. The Crossing is exactly that. They ensured our "littles" and our friends' children felt just as welcome and included as the adults, which allowed everyone to truly relax and enjoy the magic. To Antonia and the entire crossing team: thank you for making our wedding day a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your hospitality, your stunning location, and the incredible team provided us with an experience we will never forget. We will be recommending The Crossing to everyone we know! Thank you! Thank you!!!Posted on Google![]()

I was googling "romantic places near Calgary" to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and I stumbled onto The Crossing. WOW! this place is amazing! We were greated by super friendly and helpful staff. Our room was huge with a private balcony where we got to watch an amazing sunrise! Our bed was super coumfy and we had a great sleep! We added on the picnic dinner up at the lean-to which was a very romantic adventure! The food was delicious and we got to sit in the lean-to and watch the sunset, and have a little bonfire as well. This is a great place for a wedding, a corporate event, or just a couples romantic getaway! Shout out to Cassidy, Kayden, and Hellena for your amazing hospitality!+0Posted on Google![]()

….. Where to begin, I unfortunately got trusted planning the day of our dreams as my better half was doing her masters program while working. First of all you don’t know me but I’ll admit I’m not the easiest to deal with and I’m learning, I tend to become very blunt and honest when hiccups occur. First of all I need to apologize to Antonia and Helena as little did I know august 15/16th would become days that you can only dream of! The moment we pulled up the day before our wedding to the moment we left I have no words. Don’t think I’ve come across two amazing individuals of when it’s go time they won’t settle for anything less then perfection and that word never existed in my dictionary before that day and never will again for after but for those two days (tear eye). My wife me my friends and family will never be able to thank you all enough for what you and your amazing team did for us that weekend. From Spencer and Cassidy and the people they had working with them in the back end and setting up and to giving my uncle a hard time! I thank you Cassidy for that haha! To Aeron and his amazing team of chefs he gets to work with your food and presentation and delivery truly was remarkable! I truly cant thank all of you enough for making the day and weekend that special for my wife and all our guests!! You guys truly made me feel like more then just a construction worker and it meant the world. All I can say is I know it might be a bit much for some but it’s worth it. We’ll be going back every couple years on our anniversary date for sure!+0Posted on Google![]()

Beautiful setting and we had excellent staff and service. We were treated to a tour of the area by a gracious staff member on a Polaris all terrain vehicle. There are many beautiful areas for fire pit fun by the river and warm inviting fireplaces throughout the country inn feeling. The breakfasts were tasty. The dinner option was disappointing. The access to great coffee at all times was a perk. The rooms were very small and overall the weekend experience very pricey. ,Posted on Google![]()

There are so many wonderful happenings from my weekend at your venue and I will give you my top ten beginning with the very best: 1. The food at the wedding reception was beyond belief: vegetables done and served were perfect and the asparagus the best I have ever had. The beef and I don’t usually eat beef, was so delicious I for the first time in my long life went back for seconds. 2. Parking. It was so easy to find a spot and park close to the activities. In Calgary parking has become a high blood pressure item and not only did I just pull in and park but spotted my best friend within ten steps. 3. Bottles of water, fancy coffee and special teas available for our use all the time at no extra costs. 4. The old buildings: especially the main house where I slept. I felt like I was back at my grandparents home and I totally loved my room. It was a busy time so sleep at a minimum but when grabbing a few minutes it was private and rewarding. 5. People: all I need to say is excellent staff and they are worth their weight in gold! 6. Caring attitude: very few places have so many staff who genuinely care about their guests and everyone I interacted with truly made sure I was totally looked after: a tremendous loving and caring environment. I am a psychologist and you restored my faith in human nature. 7. Cleanliness: a spotless environment and to provide blankets for a cool afternoon was a nice addition. 8. Expectations: one goes there with hotel expectations and leaves with the feeling of leaving one’s home. Don’t know exactly how you have created this but you have and it is wonderful. 9. Providing staff and shuttle buses. I love walking but found myself grabbing a ride every chance I got. Another very thoughtful addition to your service. 10 and final thought: totally the best place to visit in all aspects: if one needs a break from city living my advice would be book in for a few days and restore your mental health. I have been all over the world and to find in my own back yard your relaxing environment is truly a surprise and a very nice reward for working diligently. Thank you! Karen AnnonPosted on Google![]()

The entire experience was outstanding. My wife and I enjoyed a quiet getaway in the mountains where we could unwind and enjoy our time together. Beautiful and rustic B&B located close enough to Calgary that it's easy to get to, but far enough away that you really feel like you're on vacation. No noise except for the rushing river and the birds. Gorgeous walking paths and river access. Food is homemade and delicious. Top-notch escape very close to Calgary with amazing amenities. I’m surprised more folks from Calgary aren’t coming out here to decompress and experience nature and hospitality all at once. We delivered a mobile sauna to this location and worked closely with Liam and Steve. They both took guest experience very seriously and were pleasant to work with. We hope to continue visiting The Crossing again and again!Posted on Google![]()

We had our wedding at the Crossing and it was absolutely perfect! The property is beautiful and provided a number of stunning backdrops for our various events and photos. The food was delicious. Everyone raved about it and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the resort to ourselves and everyone felt comfortable leaving their rooms unlocked. We even forgot the card box in the reception area overnight and had zero concerns about anything going missing. All in all it was the perfect wedding and our guests had an amazing time. My wife and 6 year old recently stayed at the Crossing and it was an outstanding experience. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was locally sourced and delicious, and had a variety of options that were even able to satisfy a very particular 6 year old palate 😉 The hotel is perfect for both families and couples, offering something for everyone. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Alberta foothills, in the Ghost River valley, the surroundings were truly picturesque. We are already looking forward to returning for another wonderful stay!+2Posted on Yelp![]()

Every year, our organization holds a planning session for the leadership team and this is the second year that we have held it at The Crossing. We have two intense days of work to get through and we rely on the professionalism and support that the superb staff at The Crossing consistently provide. Cozy accommodations, functional conference space, delicious food and very attentive service make The Crossing a favourite place to step back and really look at the big picture. The location and grounds provide the perfect setting for removing all distractions and really getting lots done, with time to relax, play horseshoes and have a fire by the river.

The HRIA Board of Directors has been holding its annual retreat at The Crossing for a number of years now. The peaceful surroundings, well-equipped meeting space, and excellent service make this an easy choice. The group always raves about the delicious, and plentiful food!

This was the second time we decided to hold our Western Retreat at The Crossing as we had a spectacular visit the first time. The meeting rooms were spacious, fully equipped and allowed for an opportunity to stretch the legs and enjoy a short nature walk between the dining experience and the meetings. The grounds are stunning and offer many different options for team building activities (we did fly fishing and nature yoga). The Inn is only a short drive to and from the Calgary airport, so is very convenient for out of city travellers. The food is amazing and Carol and her team went out of their way to accommodate our group’s every need. Overall a special place to host a ‘real Albertan’ experience.

The Crossing continues to provide a warm and collaborative atmosphere for our annual Board/Executive Planning Sessions. From the beautiful, secluded location in the foothills, to their comforting and indulgent menu offerings, and committed, friendly staff, any organization looking for a facility to work on planning and team building, will not be disappointed.

We facilitated a 3 day Leadership Retreat at Ghost Crossing. The facility was ideal: there was space to facilitate sessions, be outdoors for team building activities, have connecting conversations around a campfire, comfortable accommodations, amazing meals and all within a short drive from Calgary.

There is so much that can be said about The Crossing it’s hard to know where to start. Our company has held our strategic planning meeting there for the past 2 years. The breathtaking scenery to the cozy relaxing rooms and let’s not forget about the food. The Chef prepared some of the most spectacular palette and visual satisfying meals for our team; it’s all anyone talks about for weeks after. Being in an environment with the sounds of the river off in the distance, beautiful wild life right in the front yard and fresh air really allows for a stress free no interruption approach for the work that our teams is required to complete during our retreat.

For several years, we have used The Crossing at Ghost River for management retreats. Inspiring environment, relaxation, and play are essential for stimulating creativity, productivity and fresh communication within a team. The facilities and food service are exceptional. Every detail is 5 stars. Diane, Carol and the rest of the staff are always flexible and accommodating to our requests. They are an integral part of the seamless execution of our agenda. It is a pleasure dealing with professional staff that listen to our specific needs and follow through with every detail, every time.

Our Executive Leadership Team at ATCO Power has held annual strategic planning conferences at The Crossing at Ghost River for several years now. We return because of the proximity to the city, yet the feeling of really being away from it all and the exceptional service and menu offerings provided every time we have been there. I would highly recommend The Crossing Experience to any group wanting the quiet peacefulness and ambience of this wonderful facility which really does generate good thinking.

As a location for an educational or business retreat, away from the distractions and interruptions of a normal workday, we found The Crossing at Ghost River to be an excellent choice. Not only were the meeting rooms well appointed, all of our technology needs were met. While the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, the venue is organized with multiple meeting areas and evening activities, providing ample space for work as well as recreation. The accommodations are comfortable and decorated to feel ‘homey’ and the food is outstanding, offering a variety of menu options What makes The Crossing at Ghost River truly unique, however, is the setting: it is beautifully scenic, nestled in the foothills, and beside the picturesque Ghost River.

Worth a visit! Ghost River Crossing is quaint, steeped in character in an exquisite setting. A hidden gem. If you are looking for a place to have a business meeting and/or a social function (with the added bonus of an overnight stay) you must check it out. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our group considers Ghost River Crossing as the best venue that we have found to hold our company functions.

From the very first communication to the end of our visit we were very satisfied with The Crossing! We held our leadership weekend at The Crossing with about 20 employees. Everything exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious – every single meal tasted like we were sitting at a 5 star restaurant. Our meeting space was absolutely beautiful covered with art and natural lighting. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They ensured we had everything from internet, outlets, power cords, projector screens, remotes and more! Also, they knew our agenda inside out so everything was always ready on time. The bedrooms make you feel like you are at home with quilts and large windows – also one of the most comfortable beds I have ever been in! I highly recommend the Crossing for a family weekend away or a company retreat.

I was planning an offsite event for the Hyatt Regency Calgary Leadership team, and was looking for a venue to do a unique team building event focused on networking and connection. The Crossing turned out to be the perfect venue for our February team building. The meeting space worked very well for our needs as it has flexibility to be meeting space or casual living room style for better networking. Outdoor winter activities included a scavenger hunt, snowshoeing and even making s’mores on the huge open fire pit was a hit! Guest rooms were quiet and well appointed. All of our meals were absolutely outstanding and the team accommodated our special dietary requests with ease. Without a doubt I will be working again soon with the amazing team at The Crossing.

My husband and I a spent a few days over New Year here at this exquisite place which is a perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate. The house is very comfortable and inviting, wonderfully decorated with attention to detail and the staff were outstanding, taking care of our every need, the food was world class and the grounds are stunning nestled in the foothills. We lit a wood burning fireplace every evening and relaxed with our feet up. The drive into Cochrane is not too far and the wolf dog sanctuary is a short drive away.

The Crossing at Ghost River is the perfect spot for a getaway. I have been here for meetings but our personal weekend away was just what we needed! It is peaceful to walk to the river, enjoy a campfire, or relax with a good book. It is so quiet and the rooms are very comfortable. The food is absolutely amazing, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our weekend away was perfect! It is also a short drive to the mountains if you want to go hiking. The Crossing at Ghost River made for a perfect weekend getaway, with only a short drive from the city. Highlight of the weekend was the food - 5 star meals that the whole family raved about. They went above and beyond to accommodate for Celiac (gluten free), which was such a treat. Our room was clean, and the staff went out of their way to make sure our weekend was relaxing and hassle free. Great firepit (a short walk) down by the river. Common spaces located around the resort to share some laughs, play games, or read a book. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding at The Crossing July 9, 2021 and the consulting, planning, food, hospitality and service was absolutely exceptional! We had 50 guests with all guests staying overnight. Carol was amazing to work with, making sure all details were taken care of in the planning and day of coordination. We had lots of guests with gluten/dairy allergies and the food was absolutely incredible, guests are still talking about it. We were blown away with our wedding day experience there and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue! Thank you to all staff at The Crossing for going above and beyond, we are so thankful!

Had my wedding/elopement here over the weekend and it was such a wonderful experience! The staff were so helpful, accommodating and kind, they even remembered my family members names when serving us dinner. It was a dream working with Carol and everyone. The food was spectacular, literally one of the best meals of my life was my wedding dinner, it was just so delicious and cooked perfectly. The scenery was gorgeous, the bedroom was adorable. We definitely plan to return for a wedding anniversary or something. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get eloped or married. Even during covid they made my wedding so special and amazing and I can’t thank them enough!

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our wedding here the beginning of July 2022. From the beginning it was such an easy and stress free venue to work with to plan our wedding.
Carol, Christine, Jori and all the other staff made the day flow and truly went above and beyond to help us and our guests truly enjoy every moment. The food is beyond amazing and the natural beauty of the property is truly one of a kind. Can't recommend the Crossing enough for an event or for night away in their beautiful and unique bed and breakfast.

My wife and I got married at the Crossing this summer and we could not be more happy with our decision to do so. The location is obviously beautiful, but Jori and his team did an impeccable job of ensuring that we were well-taken care of. Diane was amazing during the preparation phase in ensuring that all of our questions were answered quickly, professionally and with as much patience as required to calm two stressed-out soon-to-be newlyweds. And I have yet to find better food at any venue I have been to for any reason. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Spent the weekend here for my best friend's wedding. Absolutely stunning view, comfortable stay in the most charming accomodation. The best part by far was the quality of the food. I've eaten at many 5 star restaurants and the food at Crossing Experience was most definitely 5 stars! The staff were all helpful and pleasant and everyone made me feel safe with covid measures in place. I highly recommend booking a wedding or group retreat at this establishment.

Family Reunion Reviews
We were extremely lucky to discover the Crossing at Ghost River for our family reunion . Everything was superb . It began with the setting which is beautiful and calm with lots of room to roam on the property, and a crystal clear mountain river running along the border. The food was a gastronomic delight and the chefs were more than willing to deal with our special requests and our need to change the timelines when our activities ran late . The staff were more than helpful with set up ( when we reorganized the tables ) and always cheerful and friendly . The planning went smoothly and the managers helped us with each detail down to planning the menu , choosing the wines and organizing rooms with great attention to detail , checking on allergies and so on . The bedrooms were spacious and unique and a hit with the family. All of our visitors (from England , Scotland , Poland and Italy as well as eastern Canada and the US ) were blown away by the venue . I can't thank the Crossing enough.

For our family reunion the Crossing at Ghost River was all that we knew it would be. The staff were so kind and accommodating. They bent over backwards to cater to those of our group with food allergies. The facilities were outstanding and of course, the food was amazing. Having stayed at the Crossing for business meetings, I told my family that we may never eat that well at a family reunion again and they all agreed. Many thanks to the staff for helping make our family reunion such a memorable event!!!

I hosted a family reunion at The Crossings this past weekend for 40 relatives that ranged in ages and abilities. From the very start, Carol was accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. The staff, food and service were superb! The environment was relaxing and rejuvenating. Everyone raved about the choice of venue. Many people suggested we host the next reunion here... I think that says it all!

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in June 2022 and found The Crossing at Ghost River to be an ideal location to host a three-day event for twenty-three family members and friends, ranging from five to seventy-five years old. The Deere House provided us with the bedroom space for everyone to stay and with both a games and a meeting room for group activities. The chefs and kitchen staff prepared delightful, savoury meals fit for royalty. Everyone spoke highly of the wonderful buffets that were served. A hike to the top of Mockingbird Lookup gave fourteen of our group an outdoor activity with bonding time. The Reservations Manager suggested and helped organize this event, for which we were very grateful. A guaranteed way to get people to stick together is with roasted marshmallows over an open fire pit. The Crossing staff helped make this happen, too. The staff, meals, facilities, and setting were simply outstanding. Everyone left with fond memories of the time we spent together at The Crossing.

On behalf of the Veterans Transition Network, I would like to highlight the amenity and adaptability of the Crossing at Ghost River. As a baseline, this centre already provides superb food, atmosphere and activities. What impressed us, however, is that without question they provided ongoing modifications to their setup to accommodate the often challenging nature of treating trauma in military veterans. Having personally visited here, this is among my favourite retreat centres across Canada.

We have been hosting our training retreat weekends here at Crossing for almost 2 years now. Our participants that are involved on these weekends come away appreciating the environment, the atmosphere around them, and the food is amazing. The staff at Crossing makes us feel at home when we arrive and are very diligent in taking care of any needs we may have during the weekend. We appreciate them providing all our audio visual needs so we don’t have bring equipment. We would recommend Crossing to any group wanting top notch service and a retreat centre for your group.
