Feature Recipe: Snickerdoodles

Happy Fall! We are sharing another one of our chef’s fantastic recipes that is the perfect treat for the changing season! Follow the steps outlined in this article to whip up a batch and enjoy these incredible snickerdoodle cookies! If you’re wondering what a snickerdoodle is, imagine a soft and chewy sugar cookie with a sweet cinnamon sugar coating, and a distinctive tangy flavour thanks to the cream of tartar. Delicious!


Cookie dough:

1 cup                      butter

1½ cup                  sugar

4 tbs                      white vinegar

2 cups                   all-purpose flour

1 tbs                      cream of tartar

1 tbs                      baking soda

¼ tbs                    salt

Cinnamon/sugar mixture:

1 tbs                      cinnamon

1 tbs                      sugar


  1. Using mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add white vinegar
  2. Mix all-purpose flour, cream of tartar, backing soda and salt and add to creamed butter
  3. Combine cinnamon and sugar for cinnamon/sugar mixture
  4. From dough into 1 inch balls, roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
  5. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes
  6. ENJOY!
